Overview

InfoPrint® Solutions Company, a Ricoh®-IBM joint venture, announces new capabilities for the InfoPrint Pro C900AFP.

The InfoPrint Pro C900AFP now supports PostScript® 3 (TM), PDF 1.7 (TM) and the Personalized Print Markup Language (PPML) in addition to the Advanced Function Presentation™ (AFP™) Architecture previously announced.

The following new capabilities are available for the InfoPrint Pro C900AFP:

• Cover Interposer for inserting document covers into the print stream.
• Attachment to the InfoPrint 2494 Ring Binder, the InfoPrint 2492 Perfect Binder, and the 2496 Plockmatic Bookletmaker in countries where these products are available.
• The InfoPrint Job Ticket Editor for PostScript and PDF files.
• Support for the InfoPrint Productivity Tracker V2.1 program.

Description

The InfoPrint Pro C900AFP now supports the following:

• PostScript 3 (TM), PDF 1.7 (TM) and the Personalized Print Markup Language (PPML) in addition to the Advanced Function Presentation (AFP) Architecture with IPDS™ previously announced.
• The Cover Interposer (#4600, 4601) to insert media, such as a document cover, into the print stream.
• Attachment to the InfoPrint 2494 Ring Binder, the InfoPrint 2492 Perfect Binder, and the 2496 Plockmatic Bookletmaker.
• The InfoPrint Job-ticketing Editor for PostScript and PDF files.
• The InfoPrint Productivity Tracker V2.1 Program Product.

Controller with PostScript and IPDS (#9929)

This feature provides a printer controller that supports PostScript, PDF, IPDS, and PPML.

After the general availability of this feature, it must be included on all initial orders for the InfoPrint Pro C900AFP (machine type 2709, Model P02)

This feature provides the following:

• The Advanced Function Architecture with IPDS
• Adobe® PostScript 3
• Personalized Print Markup Language (PPML)
• Adobe PDF

• #9929 = factory; no Field feature is available. To upgrade existing printers, contact the InfoPrint Customer Support Specialist to schedule the No Charge Upgrade.

CI5010 Cover Interposer (#4600/4601)

This feature allows media, such as covers, to be inserted into the print job. The media is inserted after fusing.

Ordering instructions

For orders requesting delivery prior to the General Availability of the Controller with PostScript and PDF (#9929), order feature 9928, and not feature 9929.

For orders requesting delivery after the general availability of feature 9929, order only feature 9929, and not feature 9928.

Software support

The following software supports the InfoPrint C900AFP printer:

• InfoPrint Manager for AIX® 4.3 with PTF UO00979, or later
• InfoPrint Manager for Windows® 2.3 with PTF UO00980, or later
• InfoPrint Process Director for Linux®, V1R3M1 with PTF U829966, or later
• InfoPrint Process Director for AIX, V1R3M1 with PTF US00109, or later
• PSF for z/OS® 4.2, and above
• PSF for IBM® i V5R4, and above (Note: PSF for iSeries® does not have CMR support)
