Omniterm 750t
$299.00

The OmniTerm family of Ethernet Terminals and Thin Clients combines all of the benefits of a dedicated SNA terminal with industry-standard network connectivity and capability. Now MIS managers and Network Supervisors can give their users access to traditional IBM hosts (AS/400, S/390, S/9000), UNIX hosts, Microsoft hosts, email and more-- all from a single Ethernet workstation. And because the OmniTerm family employs solid-state technology, this connectivity is achieved without the complexity and expense associated with traditional PC-based solutions.

Decision Data has drawn on its extensive IBM Midrange (AS/400) and Mainframe (S/390, S/9000) knowledge and incorporated it into the OmniTerm family of thin clients.

The OmniTerm/750t is a text-only Ethernet terminal that includes support for TN5250E, TN3270E, VT100/220/320, email and host printing. This unit is not upgradeable to any of the other OmniTerm models.

The OmniTerm/800ex is a text-based Ethernet terminal that includes all of the OmniTerm/700t functionality as described above, but is field-upgradeable to the OmniTerm/850gx graphical Thin Client.

The OmniTerm/850gx is a true Graphical Thin Client that supports Netscape Communicator, ICA, RDP, Java and Java Virtual Machine, as well as all of the OmniTerm/700t functionality described above. The OmniTerm/850gx is the smart choice when it comes to thin clients. It delivers access to AS/400, Mainframe, UNIX, ICA, RDP, Internet and intranet applications at an affordable price. Whenever investment protection and cost of ownership are key decision criteria, the OmniTerm/850gx is clearly the thin client of choice.

OmniTerm/700t

The OmniTerm/700t is the ideal Ethernet-Terminal replacement for legacy SNA terminals. The OmniTerm/700t delivers all of the same look-and-feel features that a traditional dumb terminal user expects, but in a thin client platform. All OmniTerms connect across Ethernet topologies, as opposed to the legacy Twinax or Coax wiring infrastructures for dumb terminals. These traditional terminal features supported by the OmniTerm include all of the following:

  • A 122 key keyboard (the same keyboard as used on Decision Data legacy terminals)
  • Multiple concurrent SNA host sessions (up to 4)(8 on /gx).
  • Printing - local or host-addressable via the parallel port.
  • Keystroke macros & extensive user customization capabilities.
  • Access to multiple AS/400 and/or Mainframe hosts.
And the Omniterm/700t (unlike terminals) also supports email, without adding the expensive overhead of a PC. Your existing POP3 email servers (Lotus Notes, CCMail, Microsoft Exchange, and many more) that are providing email service to existing PC users can be used to deliver email to the OmniTerm/700t Ethernet terminals. The OmniTerm/700t Ethernet terminal offers the best of both worlds  the simplicity, efficiency and economics of a SNA terminal combined with the flexibility and power of an Ethernet LAN-attached PC. And all of this is achieved without the bloated cost-of-ownership associated with today's PCs.

OmniTerm/800ex

This thin client from Decision Data is expandable/upgradeable from Text to Graphics functionality. It includes all of the OmniTerm/700t text capabilities and yet it is electronically upgradeable to the /850gx graphics functionality. Ideal for those users where a text-based terminal satisfies their needs today, but who want the reassurance that the unit can be upgraded as required to the full Graphics capability. This upgrade requires NO hardware changes. The Text to Graphics transition is achieved electronically, seamlessly delivering the richness of the OmniTerm/850gx thin client from Decision Data.

Omiterm/850gx

The ultimate in network-centric thin clients, the OmniTerm/850gx from Decision Data has inherited all of the great qualities associated with terminals and PCs, but without any of their bad habits! This model combines the Text functionality of the /700t with a GUI. The OmniTerm/850gx Graphical User Interface (GUI) provides the user with access to all of the major data repositories available today, including; AS/400s, Mainframes, Citrix Servers, Microsoft Terminal Servers, Email, Internet access, Intranet access, UNIX, DEC, etc. Web browsing is via the industry-standard Netscape Communicator.
