New! 6262 Ethernet conversion kits: ACC-6xe!

The IBM 6262 Impact Line Printer models are additions to the IBM family of intermediate speed impact line printers operating at 1,200, 1,400, and 2,200 lines per minute (LPM). The 6262 offers excellent print quality, enhanced and easier-to-use operator functions, and high reliability.

IBM 6262-A12
The 6262-A12 is a 1200 LPM, with a 48 character set, PC Parallel/Serial, Impact Line Printer. It is for attachment to processors that utilize the PC Parallel or Serial (RS-232-C or RS-422-A) printer interface and emulate the IBM 4202-3 printer for traditional line mode printing of simple text and numbers. The 6262-A12 is supported on the Micro Channel 370. It may be attached to the standard parallel and serial ports as well as to the RS-232-C and RS-422-A ports of the optional Eight Port Adapters. When attached to the Micro Channel 370, the 6262 printer may be used in either 4245 or 3287 printer emulation mode.

IBM 6262-D12
The 6262-D12 is a 1200 LPM, with a 48 character set, Impact Line Printer. It coaxially attaches to the 3X74 controllers, the 4702 processor, the 9370 Workstation Controller and the 4361 Workstation Adapter.

IBM 6262-P12
The 6262-P12 is a 1200 LPM, with a 48 character set, Impact Line Printer. It attaches to non-IBM hosts that utilize the Dataproducts** parallel printer interface and emulate the Dataproducts LB series printers.

IBM 6262-T12
The 6262-T12 is a 1200 LPM, with a 48 character set, Impact Line Printer. It attaches twinaxially to the AS/400*, S/36*, S/38*, S/88*, and the 5X94 Remote Controllers.

IBM 6262-014
The 6262-014 is a 1400 LPM, with a 48 character set, 370 channel attach (byte-multiplexer, block-multiplexer, or selector channel) Impact Line Printer.

IBM 6262-A14

Operating Simplicity
Significantly more reliable than its IBM predecessor models, the IBM 6262 offers new levels of operating simplicity and ease of use. Its swing gate allows operators to load forms faster and more easily, and its four forms-feed tractors (which can be adjusted with a single knob) permit routine processing of prenumbered forms.
The 6262 Printer has a low noise level, making it quieter than almost any other printer in its performance range and suitable for placement virtually anywhere a printing need exists.

Flexible System Attachments
Depending upon the model you choose, the 6262 can attach to a wide variety of IBM systems including the IBM Personal System/2 (PS/2), Application System/400(AS/400), including the Advanced 36, System/36, System/38, System/390, Enterprise System/9000, (S/9000), and IBM 3270 Information System. The 6262 family also includes the 6262 A22, which enable attachment to a variety of non-IBM and IBM ASCII hosts that interface with personal computers, workstations and LAN print stations. The 6262 P22 will attach to non-IBM system hosts using the Dataproducts** parallel system printer interface. Other attachment conversions or model changes are also available.

Advanced Diagnostics for High Availability
The IBM 6262 provides a number of sophisticated diagnostic capabilities including an 80 character, plain language diagnostic and test message display. Internal processors constantly monitor operations, maintaining high throughput and decreasing the need for operator intervention. Add operator-initiated problem analysis and resolution procedures and you have a printer that seldom requires a service call.

Enhanced Operator Capabilities
With the improved IBM 6262 operator panel, operators can change print contrast, page length and vertical spacing, as well as specify the forms control buffer from the host processor. By monitoring a ribbon pass counter, operators can manage ribbon life during critical print quaility operations. In addition, operators can intiate an electronic flight-timing routine that maintains optimum print quality without a service call. A highly visible attention light alerts operators to those situations when the printer does require attention. Also, a convenience vacuum is included to make routine printer cleaning quick and easy.
