The palm-sized, external, multi-protocol 3100 print server is compatible with virtually all major printers using their parallel interface. The embedded solution can monitor for typical printer status such as paper out or error conditions Additionally, the 3100 can retrieve E-mail from the mail server and print to the printer without any PC. It also can send an e-mail message to you when any error occurs with the printer.

IPv6 ready

The 3100 is the world's first print server officially certified by IPv6 Forum under IPv6 Ready Logo Phase 1 program. The 3100 has a dual stack (IPv4 and IPv6) architecture, which makes IPv6 available in your current IPv4 environment. The 3100 supports the smooth migration to IPv6.
ThinPrint supported

The 3100 supports ThinPrint network printing technology. Ideal for server-based computing environments, including Windows Terminal Services and Citrix MetaFrame. ThinPrint network printing technology provides bandwidth-optimized print solutions and print data compression technology.

NOTE: In order to use ThinPrint function, the firmware has to be updated. The firmware supports only TCP/IP and NetBEUI. AppleTalk and IPX/SPX are not supported.


Security Functionality (IP Filtering)
The 3100 can control the access to printer by specifying a range of IP addresses. As an enhanced security measure, this function limits the access to your network printer. It allows only the network clients in the given IP address range to print/configure the device parameters while preventing unauthorized network access.
